At Oxx we know that one of our key strengths lies in our people. Both those working at the firm, and those in our close and extended network. With spring on the doorstep, we are happy to share some team and network updates: a team promotion and an exciting addition to our advisory board.
Gökçe – the newest Principal in the Oxx team
We want Oxx to be a firm that exceptional people from all backgrounds aspire to join to build their careers in VC. One of our main priorities is to find excellent talents, and see them flourish as they grow in their roles. We are now thrilled to share that Gökçe Ceylan, one of the investors in our London office, has been promoted to Principal.
Since joining us in 2021 as an Investment Professional in London, Gökçe has shown both great passion and expertise for building companies with our portfolio, and been instrumental in winning new opportunities for Oxx, having worked on six new and follow-on investments. Originally from Turkey, Gökçe studied at Princeton University before embarking on a career that prior to Oxx spanned VC, working as a right hand to the Global CEO of a large corporate conglomerate, joining startup Koru Kids as employee number 13, and building enterprise software solutions at Deloitte Ventures. With her background, Gökçe brings a different perspective to team discussions, having “come home” to VC in her role at Oxx.

Recognising the effect of a strong network in finding and building great companies
We know the value of having a tight and knowledgeable network, both for Oxx and for our portfolio, and take both time and care in building our relationships with specialised advisors. Now, we want to officially welcome Reshma Sohoni, co-founder and Managing Partner of Seedcamp, to our Advisory Board.
As a specialist firm, we provide bespoke support to our portfolio companies as well as furnish them with expert advice from key individuals in our network. Some of these key individuals form our advisory board, which supports Oxx in identifying and reviewing interesting opportunities, ensuring the high quality of the companies in the Oxx portfolio.
Reshma co-founded European seed fund Seedcamp in 2007. She has a strong belief that European entrepreneurs have the power to compete on a global scale. Over a decade later, Seedcamp has pioneered the European early-stage investment landscape and backed over 500 companies, including publicly listed Romanian-founded UiPath, Wise (formerly TransferWise) and unicorns Revolut, wefox, Pleo, Sorare, Grover, viz.ai, and Synthesia.
“Reshma is enormously respected across the ecosystem and we’re thrilled to have her on the Oxx advisory board,” says Richard. “She has opened up her vast network to us and is a font of invaluable knowledge about many of the founders and their scale-ups that we look to back from their early days.”
