Philip Edmondson-Jones

Phil is a Partner based in London. After starting his career in financial services and strategy consulting, Phil has been a specialist SaaS VC investor since 2016, and is an expert in SaaS Go-To-Market strategies.

He has a deep understanding of what it takes to scale SaaS companies, and was instrumental in developing Oxx’s Go-To-Market Fit Toolkit. He’s applied his specialist SaaS expertise to back businesses in fintech/insurtech, cybersecurity, vertical AI, martech and more, and has been a Board member for over a dozen top European scale-up businesses.

Phil is also passionate about diversity and inclusion in venture capital. He’s acted as mentor with Diversity VC’s ‘Future VC’ since the programme’s inception, as well as mentoring young entrepreneurs with the Prince’s Trust. He has previously participated in mentorship projects for aspiring VCs from the LGBTQ+ community, and has been a visiting course leader for the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Prior to joining Oxx, Phil spent 4 years at Beringea, a transatlantic venture and growth capital investor, where he completed 10 new and follow-on investments with a particular focus on B2B software companies. Prior to this, Phil worked in strategy consulting at OC&C, primarily advising private equity clients on due diligence. He began his career in financial services, with stints at the Bank of England and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
